For our Intersnack Procurement department, we are recruiting a

Buying Assistant


The role of the Buying Assistant is to support the Intersnack Food Commodities buying team in their administrative tasks. The role holder plays a crucial part in the procurement process: from the buying definition to the order process, until invoicing.

Overall, the main objective is to optimize the workload of buyers by reducing their support tasks, increase efficiency of the purchasing organization by harmonizing processes and improve transparency at our central level.

The Buying Assistant reports to the Senior Category Manager Oil with a dotted line to the Head of Commodities and will ideally be based in Doetinchem / Zevenaar, NL.

Your responsibilities

  • Support Buyer’s daily activities, e.g. contract maintenance discussion, contract balance alignment and modifications with Production and Suppliers
  • Manage Commodities procurement data in the different ERP-systems
  • Sparring partner to Buyers during and after purchasing process
  • Issue Management on transportation, invoicing and complaint process in cooperation with Supply Chain, External Logistics providers and Finance & Controlling
  • Handling imports documents and associated customs matters
  • Support Procurement in our compliance journey
  • Coordination with Financial trading department, linked to buyers contracts

What might qualify you for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or a similar field preferred
  • Ideally 2+ years of experience in support function, preferable within Procurement;
  • Fluent spoken and written English required, Dutch is advantageous;
  • Affinity for data and systems, ideally with ERP system and MS Office experience
  • Attention to detail, good planning, time management, conflict management and communicative skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a multicultural, international organisation;
  • Proactive, self-motivated problem solver who likes to work in a team
