About the role:
The Operations Director Europe is responsible for managing and coordinating the operations of Mobile Water Solutions across multiple locations and teams throughout Europe, ensuring the fleet of assets is properly maintained and ready for operations, teams are appropriately sized and trained to deliver required services, and processes are deployed and implemented in compliance with Ethics, Quality, and Safety Rules. Additionally, the Operations Director must make necessary arbitrations with effective communication, ensure the organization aligns with the CEO’s strategy, and guarantee that results in the European region meet the targets defined annually by the CEO.
The Operations Director Europe reports to the MWS CEO.
What will you be doing:
Mobilizations:
- Implement processes and ensure supervision and coordination with Local Site Managers or Operations Managers to achieve timely equipment delivery, proper maintenance before and during deployment, necessary service visits throughout the contract, and efficient demobilization.
Transport management:
- Ensure the Local Site Managers or Operations Managers manage and maintain the relationship with the haulier for booking and managing transport events, control transport costs to remain competitive, renew and modify contracts, and handle contingency planning.
Resource Management:
- Supervise the resource management in coordination with Local Site Managers and Operations Managers to ensure effective resource allocation and utilization including personnel, equipment and materials, compliance and regulatory requirements in logistics and transportation, cost-effective operations, optimal workflow and minimal downtime.
Service management:
- Manage Local Site Managers and Operations Managers to ensure personnel are well trained for the tasks and receive necessary resources and materials to operate efficiently to meet clients’ expectations.
- Monitor the service provided and ensure that it meets our customers’ needs.
- Implement and monitor with the local teams out-of-hour calls and maintain a 24-hour response system in partnership with transport providers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.
- Ensure that all back office teams and processes are in place to provide the proper support to the local operations, maintenance, finance and sales teams
- Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to identify opportunities for business growth and expansion and to maintain a proper forecasted workload.
- Collaborate with the Finance and Sales teams to consolidate on a monthly basis the actual and forecasted Sales numbers and propose to the CEO mitigative measures if necessary
Expansion and Special Projects:
- Responsible for the implementation of new MWS centres in Europe decided by the CEO.
- Oversee the execution of special projects in the region, including the development of new assets and IX regeneration facilities.
Safety:
- Maintain and develop a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Operations team with the support of the HSE team.
- Conduct regular safety visits/inspections to depots and customer sites to mitigate risks.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety meetings with the operations and maintenance teams
- Lead by example in promoting a safety-first culture, encouraging all employees to prioritise health and safety in their daily activities.
- Reporting of near misses and support with investigation of accidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and mentor high-performing managers and team members.
- Set clear performance goals and provide feedback and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Performs other duties of similar nature and level as assigned.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar position – operations management, process engineering for water treatment, project management or related positions.
- Proven experience in regional leadership role.
- Good understanding of electro-mechanical and control & instrumentation.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices to ensure a safe work environment.
- Budget management and cost control experience
- A good level of English language to communicate effective and clear with both technical and non-technical personnel, including clients, team members, and supervisors.
- Proficiency in one or more additional European languages including Dutch, German, or French is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Google Application Suite and/or Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Possess a valid Driver’s License in Europe.
Location:
- This role is based in Doetinchem, Netherlands, with frequent travel to various Mobile Water Solutions sites across Europe, including locations like Heinsberg in Germany and Wissous in France.
- A willingness to travel frequently to different locations to support sales efforts as needed.
